Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam case. The ED case was being heard by a bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta. Even after getting bail in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) case, Chief Minister Kejriwal will still remain in jail, because the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested him in the alleged liquor policy case.
The court framed three questions related to the power and policy of arrest of the ED and said that Kejriwal will be released on interim bail as per the terms of the May 10 order. The ED arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in the money laundering case. Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26 in a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. These cases are related to the Delhi government’s Excise Policy 2021-22 which was later repealed.
