Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited Leh. The war memorial has been rebuilt at Rezang La in Ladakh, for which Rajnath Singh reached there for the inauguration. During this, here he has also paid his tribute to the brave soldiers of the 1962 war. A video of Rajnath Singh from here is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video, Rajnath Singh is seen carrying Brigadier (Retd) RV Jatar of 13 Kumaon on his own in a wheelchair. Let us tell you that RV Jatar fought bravely in the Indo-China conflict of 1962.

India is getting a newly renovated war memorial to mark the 59th anniversary of the 1962 Battle of Rezang La. During the 1962 war, 13 Kumaon troops led by Major Shaitan Singh had killed many soldiers of the Chinese army. The anniversary of the famous mythological battle is celebrated on 18 November.

The video was posted on Twitter by PRO Udhampur, Ministry of Defense. The caption read, “13 Brigadier (Retd) RV Jatar of Kumaon, who fought valiantly in the Sino-Indian conflict of 1962, being carried by Defense Minister Shri @rajnathsingh.”

The war memorial that has been inaugurated also includes the names of those bravehearts who were martyred during the war with China in Galvan Valley last year. Martyrs of both 1962 and 2020 will be remembered through this memorial.
