Deaths from COVID-19 rise sharply in India


In India, over the past day, 42,015 cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been detected.

According to the Ministry of Health of the South Asian country, over the past day, 3,998 people have died due to the coronavirus.

Thus, the total number of cases of infection with a dangerous infection in India reached 31,216,337, deaths – 418,480.

The number of deaths due to coronavirus in the country the day before was 374, July 19 – 499, July 18 – 518, July 17 – 560, July 16 – 542, July 15 – 581.

Currently, 407,170 people are undergoing coronavirus treatment in India.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in the South Asian country, 30,390,687 people have recovered from COVID-19. The recovery rate is 97.3.

Vaccination in the country started on January 16 this year.

According to the Ministry of Health of India, 415,472,455 doses of coronavirus vaccines have been used to date.

India has a population of about 1.4 billion. The pace of vaccination is not yet able to stop the spread of this dangerous infection.

According to the Internet resource Worldometers, India remains the second country in the world in the number of cases of coronavirus infection and the third in the number of deaths.

Pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic began with the detection of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei province of central China at the end of December 2019.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.

On January 30, WHO recognized the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as a public health emergency of international concern.

On February 11, 2020, the disease was named the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

On March 11, 2020, WHO announced that the outbreak had become a pandemic.
