Death toll in flood disaster in Afghanistan rises to 60


Nuristan Governor Hafiz Abdul Kayyum, in a statement to the press, reminded that there was a flood disaster in the Kamdish district of Nuristan on 29 July after heavy rainfall.

Kayyum stated that the number of people who lost their lives due to the flood has increased to 60, and that there is still no news from more than 150 people who were caught in the flood waters.

The trustee noted that search and rescue efforts continue.

Afghanistan Disaster Preparedness Administration announced that 150 houses and 2 bridges were destroyed due to flooding.

In the statement, it was reported that aid could not be delivered to the flood victims as the region was under the control of the Taliban.

In the statement made by the Taliban, it was claimed that it would provide convenience for institutions that want to deliver aid to the flood victims.
