Cyclonic storm Fengal is expected to reach near Puducherry this afternoon. It is being estimated that this storm can cause a lot of destruction. IMD has issued a red alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore districts and Puducherry on Saturday. The IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam districts and Karaikal region.
