CPM branch secretary suspended for opposing alliance with SDPI

Pathanamthitta: The CPM has taken disciplinary action against the Pathanamthitta Municipal Councilor. Municipal councilor and Thazhevettipram branch secretary V Aur Johnson has been suspended from the party for a year for publicly opposing the SDPI-CPM alliance. This is followed by action. Johnson clarified that he had not been officially notified of the party’s action. Also Read: The decision was taken at a local committee meeting chaired by CPM state committee member Aur Unnikrishna Pillai, district committee member T Zakir Hussain and area committee member K Anil Kumar. It is rare for action to be taken against party committee members during party meetings. The decision of the local committee meeting must be approved by the district committee. Johnson has been criticized since the CPM began its attempt to seize municipal power with the support of the SDPI. Following this, the SDPI also came out against Johnson. Johnson is being investigated and action is being taken.
