Covid-19: the number of deaths and cases on the rise in Latin America

Latin American countries continue to record new cases of contamination and death from Covid-19.

In the past 24 hours, Covid-19 has killed 677 in Brazil, 790 in Mexico, 30 in Colombia, 40 in Argentina, 12 in Peru and 34 in Honduras.

According to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health, the country has recorded a total of 598,829 deaths. The number of cases recorded in the last 24 hours was 20,528, bringing the total to 21,499,074 cases.

Brazil is the second country in number of deaths after the United States.

Mexico registered 7,682 new cases, bringing the total to 3,691,924 cases. The country has also recorded 279,894 deaths.

Colombia has recorded a total of 4,964,454 cases, including 1,211 in the last 24 hours, in addition to 126,455 deaths in total.

Argentina has announced 115,323 deaths so far. The country has counted 1,216 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 5,261,935 cases.

In Peru, Covid-19 has claimed 199,520 deaths and 2,180,149 cases of infection, including 508 in the last 24 hours.

Honduras has recorded, according to local media, a total of 9,913 deaths and 368,654 cases of infection, including 330 in the last 24 hours.
