Coronavirus India: Lowest number of active patients in the country in 208 days, Kerala has the highest number of 101 deaths in 24 hours

After 18,166 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the country in a day, the total cases of infection increased to 3,39,53,475, while the number of patients under treatment came down to 2,30,971 which is the lowest in 208 days. The Union Health Ministry gave this information on Sunday. According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry till 8 am, after the death of 214 more patients due to infection, the death toll has gone up to 4,50,589. The daily cases of infection are less than 30,000 for the 16th day in a row.

The Health Ministry said that the number of active patients is 0.68 percent of the total cases of infection, which is the lowest since March 2020. At the same time, the national rate of recovery from Covid-19 was recorded at 97.99 percent, which is the highest since March 2020. The ministry said that the number of active patients has come down by 5,672 in the last 24 hours. At least 12,83,212 samples were tested on Saturday, taking the number of tests so far in the country to 58,25,95,693.

The daily infection rate was recorded at 1.42 percent. It has been less than three percent for the last 41 days. The weekly infection rate was recorded at 1.57 percent, which is less than three percent for the last 107 days. The number of patients who have recovered from this disease has increased to 3,32,71,915 while the death rate is 1.33 percent. The ministry informed that the doses of vaccines given so far under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign have crossed the mark of 94.70 crores.

The number of infected in the country had crossed 20 lakh on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23 and more than 40 lakh on September 5. At the same time, the total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October and 90 lakh on 20 November. In the country, these cases had crossed one crore on December 19, crossed two crore on May 4 this year and crossed three crore on June 23.

According to the data, out of the 214 patients who died, 101 died in Kerala and 44 in Maharashtra. 4,50,375 people have died due to this Pandemic in the country. Of these, 1,39,514 people lost their lives in Maharashtra, 37,875 in Karnataka, 35,768 in Tamil Nadu, 26,173 in Kerala, 25,088 in Delhi, 22,896 in Uttar Pradesh and 18,894 in West Bengal.

The Health Ministry said that out of those who have died due to infection so far, more than 70 percent of the patients also had other diseases. The ministry said on its website that its data is being reconciled with the data of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
