Xiaomi locks in over 75,000 orders for SU7 electric sedan: China’s leading smartphone maker Xiaomi has claimed to have booked more than 75 thousand orders for its electric car SU7 till April 24. The company also says that it is aiming to complete the delivery of more than 10 thousand units of its sporty sedan EV in June this year. Xiaomi’s founder Lei Jun gave this information during the Beijing auto show on Thursday.
Xiaomi SU7 was launched in late March
While talking to the media at the Beijing Auto Show, Lei Jun said that till April 24, the company had booked a total of 75,723 orders for its first electric car (Elecric car) SU7. The special thing is that this number is of lock-in orders received for the company’s car. Locked-in orders refer to orders in which the buyer chooses not to withdraw his booking amount as a non-refundable deposit. During an event held on the first media day of the Beijing Auto Show, Lei said that their delivery target of more than ten thousand cars in June would be a new record for any electric vehicle (EV) startup. This first car of Xiaomi was launched at the end of March and getting so many lock-in orders in less than a month is considered a big success.
