Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has praised the new coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid. Ganguly-Dravid, who debuted in the same match in international cricket, have shared the dressing room with each other for a long time.
After the departure of Ravi Shastri last month, Dravid was made the head coach of the team. He achieved victory in his very first mission. Defeated New Zealand in the home T20 and then in the Test series. BCCI chief Ganguly has praised Rahul Dravid by remembering an anecdote during this series.
Recalling the first Test played in Kanpur, Ganguly says, ‘I heard that after practice, he himself was picking up the stumps and the ball and taking it to the dressing room. What can be a better scene for the cameraman than this. He will be happy to see such scenes. Dravid is a jovial and hardworking sportsperson.
In a special conversation with News18, Ganguly says that we will give all possible help to Dravid. One-day-T20 captain Rohit Sharma and Test captain Virat Kohli have full support. Dravid’s tenure, which started in November, will continue for the next two years i.e. till the 2023 World Cup. This World Cup is to be played on home soil only.
