CM Biren Singh apologized for Manipur violence, said- “Want to say sorry”
State Chief Minister Biren Singh has apologized for the Manipur violence today i.e. on Tuesday. He has described the year 2024 as full of misfortune. He said that CM Biren Singh said that he apologizes to the people of the state from May 3 (2023) till today.

He said, “This entire year has been very unfortunate. I am sorry and want to apologize to the people of the state from last May 3 till today. Many people have lost their loved ones. Many people left their homes. I am really sorry. I want to apologize. Now, I am hopeful that after seeing the progress of the last 3-4 months towards peace, I am hopeful that with the new year 2025, normalcy and peace will be restored in the state. I want to appeal to all the communities of the state that whatever happened, happened. Now we have to forget past mistakes and start a new life. We all must live together for a peaceful Manipur, a prosperous Manipur.”
It is noteworthy that till now about 180 people have lost their lives in the violence that has been going on in Manipur for more than a year. The dispute started when the Meitei community demanded ST recognition and the Kuki community opposed it.
