Targeting the G7 countries, China has said that the days are gone when some countries used to decide the fate of the world together.
“The days when a small group of countries made global decisions are a thing of the past,” said a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in London.
He further said, “We always believe that countries, big or small, strong or weak, poor or rich, are equal, and that all countries should be consulted on global affairs.”
China’s statement came at a time when leaders of the G7 countries protested China’s Belt and Road initiative by helping to build infrastructure in poor countries, during a conference that began in Carbys Bay in southwest England on Friday.
Let us tell you that the G7 is a group of seven countries – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and America.
China has come under heavy criticism for harassing smaller countries with huge debt as part of its trillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative, which has lent to projects spread across Asia, Africa, Latin America and even Europe.
The initiative was launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 to expand China’s economic and political influence.
