The Chief Justice said that the apex court as an institution has great respect for the freedom of the media and the rights of citizens. What is visible in a section of the media even before the disposal of the proposal during the pendency of the process is going to have an adverse effect.

I would like to take the liberty of expressing my concern over some of the speculations and news in the media. You all know that we need to appoint judges in this court. This process is going on. There will be meetings and decisions will be taken. The process of appointment of judges is sacred and has a dignity attached to it. My media friends should understand and recognize the sanctity of this process.
