WhatsApp users can now write to ChatGPT as if it were just another contact. OpenAI, the developer of the most popular generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool, has reached an agreement with Meta, owner of WhatsApp, to integrate its artifact into the messaging application par excellence in Europe.
To start using it, just save this number as a contact: +1 (1) (800) 242-8478. If accessed from the US, the country prefix would have to be removed, so it would look like this: 1-800-242-8478.
Once saved, the user can write to WhatsApp and start a text conversation as usual. OpenAI’s intention is to incorporate those users who do not have the ChatGPT application downloaded on their mobile, or who find it a hassle to have to enter it every time they want to make a query.
The WhatsApp version of ChatGPT, however, is not as powerful as the application. There are some things that cannot be done this way. For example, you cannot consult the Internet to do real-time searches (for example, what happened this morning in Congress), so the texts you produce will be generated from the database with which the model was trained. . Nor can you show images to comment on them, as you can do in the latest versions of the tool. Nor use voice mode, which allows you to talk with ChatGPT.
