By-elections on 31 assembly and 1 Lok Sabha seats of 10 states today, voting started at 7 am.
Voting is taking place in 31 assembly seats in 10 states of the country and one Lok Sabha seat in Kerala across Wayanad today i.e. on Wednesday. This voting started at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. By-elections are being held on some seats because MLAs won the Lok Sabha elections, and some seats became vacant due to the death of MLAs. Priyanka Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad, due to which this election can prove to be important for both Congress and BJP.

Let us tell you that out of these 31 assembly seats of 10 states, by-elections are being held due to 28 MLAs becoming MPs, death of 2 and defection of 1. Of these, 4 seats are reserved for SC and 6 seats are reserved for ST. 18 out of 31 seats were won by the opposition INDIA block. Congress had 9 seats. Whereas, NDA had won 11 seats. Of these, 7 MLAs were from BJP. 2 MLAs were from other parties.
By-elections are being held on so many seats in these states.
