The Spanish Football Federation has announced that Bryan Gil, the Girona winger, will not start the national team’s training camp prior to the matches against Denmark and Serbia in the Nations League due to an injury to the Andalusian player. “Bryan Gil, Girona FC player, is out due to physical discomfort and will not begin training with the Spanish National Team following conversations between the Medical Services of his club and those of the Spanish National Team. The attacker was called by Luis de la Fuente to play the duels against Denmark in Murcia and against Serbia in Córdoba in the Nations League,” the Federation statement states.
Injuries are affecting the national team, since Bryan Gil was called up by De la Fuente after the absences due to injury of Nico Williams and Ferran Martínez, from Athletic Club and FC Barcelona, respectively. Bryan Gil participated in the match that his team, Girona, played this Sunday with a victory for the Catalan team against Athletic Club (2-1). In principle, everything indicates that the national coach will not call any footballer to replace the Andalusian winger for these two Spain matches in the Nations League. The Spaniards face Denmark in Murcia next Saturday, October 12, and Serbia in Córdoba, on the 15th.
