The Gulf of Mexico, where the US produces oil, was hit by two tropical storms in a month. Oil platforms in the Gulf have not yet reached their full capacity, which is one of the factors behind the rise in prices.
In addition, the situation was affected by the commercial oil reserves in the United States, which fell more than analysts expected.
As a result, the price of Brent crude oil peaked in the last two months.
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the country’s commercial crude oil inventories fell 3.5 million barrels (0.8 percent) last week to about 414 million barrels. This is the lowest level since October 2018. The market expected stocks to decline by 2.4 million barrels.
