Brazil, Argentina tied with thumping victory; France in the final of the Nations Cup

London: Argentina were held to a draw when Brazil celebrated a huge victory in the Latin American World Cup qualifier. Brazil defeated Venezuela by three goals to one. Paraguay, however, held Argentina to a goalless draw. Brazil, with nine consecutive wins, remain top with 27 points. Argentina are second with 19 points from five wins and four draws.

Despite the absence of superstar Neymar, Brazil had an official victory over their opponents. Marquinhos (71), Gabby (85) and Antonio (90 + 5) were Brazil’s top scorers. Eric Ramirez (11) scored the consolation goal for Venezuela. Brazil scored three goals in the first half as Venezuela moved to victory.

Messi led Argentina to a goalless draw. On several occasions he came close to the goal but the goal was far away. Paraguay’s strategy was to launch a defensive lightning strike. In another match, Uruguay and Colombia drew 0-0. Ecuador beat Bolivia 3-0, while Peru beat Chile 2-0.
