According to the report, Gambhir has sought permission from BCCI for his return. A BCCI official told PTI, “He left for India with his family on Tuesday morning. This is an unavoidable personal emergency. “He will be back in Adelaide before the start of the second Test match.”
After winning the first game of the five-match series in Perth by 295 runs, the visitors will now travel to Canberra on Wednesday to play a two-day pink-ball tour game.
