Under this scheme, a target has been set to provide employment opportunities to 2 lakh women. Under the Bima Sakhi scheme, 10th pass girls and women will be trained and they will also be given financial assistance for the first three years. Launching the scheme this Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the contribution of Bima Sakhis will be much more than just earning money. He said that ‘insurance for all’ is our goal in India. This is necessary for social security and to eradicate poverty. PM Modi said that Bima Sakhis will strengthen the mission of insurance for all.
The biggest advantage of becoming a Bima Sakhi is that it can make it easier for women to become development officers in LIC. However, this golden opportunity will be available to those Bima Sakhis who, apart from 10th, have 12th and Bachelor’s degree.
What is LIC’s Bima Sakhi scheme?
LIC’s Bima Sakhi scheme is designed to empower 10th women who are minimum 18 years and maximum 70 years of age. They will be given special training and honorarium for the first three years to promote financial literacy and insurance awareness. After training, Bima Sakhi can work as LIC Women Career Agent. Apart from this, Bachelor pass Bima Sakhis will also get a chance to become Development Officer in LIC.

who is eligible
- LIC’s Bima Sakhi scheme is only for educated women.
- To become a Bima Sakhi, women must have at least 10th pass certificate.
- 10th women of minimum 18 years and maximum 70 years can become Bima Sakhi.
- Women who have a bachelor’s degree, after three years of training, they will get a chance to become development officers in LIC.

The above three documents should be self-attested by the female candidate. If incomplete or incorrect information is filled while applying, the application may be rejected.

- First of all go to the official website of LIC https://licindia.in/lic-s-bima-sakhi.
- Now click on the Click here for Bima Sakhi acquis link visible at the bottom.
- After that fill your name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, address.
- Now if you belong to any Agent/Development Officer/Employee/Medical Examiner of LIC India, then give the details and finally fill the captcha code and click on the submit button.
Now the state and district will be selected in the next phase. Fill it and click on “Next” button.
After that the names of the branches under the district will be visible. Select the branch where you want to work and click on “Submit Lead Form”.
After submitting the form, a message will appear on the screen and a message will also be received on the mobile number given while filling the application.

How will the selection be done?
An official of Noida-based LIC branch told Financial Express that under the scheme of LIC, 10th pass women can become Bima Sakhi. However, for this they will have to contact their nearest LIC branch with the above documents. He said that women applying to become Bima Sakhi will have to give a common test, which will be conducted by LIC. A total of 50 questions will be asked in this test, which will be MCQ based. There will be four options given for each question. Candidates have to write the correct option from the given options for each question. There will be no negative marking for this exam. That is, marks will not be deducted for wrong answers and the candidate will get marks for the correct answer. To pass this test, female candidates will have to write correct answers to 17 questions. That means women scoring 33 percent will be considered successful in this examination. After which they will be trained.
