Bihar by poll result analysis: Kanhaiya-Jignesh-Hardik trio failed in Bihar, Congress remained as a vote-cutter even after campaigning

Munger/Darbhanga
The trio of Kanhaiya Kumar, Jignesh Mevani and Hardik Patel failed completely in the by-elections to the Bihar Assembly. The Congress failed completely in Bihar in the by-election results. Just before the Bihar by-election, the Congress had inducted Kanhaiya Kumar, the leader of the Communist Party of India, and Jignesh Mevani, a Dalit leader and MLA from Gujarat, in the party.

After this, the trio of Kanhaiya Kumar, Jignesh Mevani and Hardik Patel campaigned fiercely in two assembly seats in Bihar. Congress’s Bihar in-charge Bhakta Charan Das had said in welcoming Kanhaiya that the land of Bihar is waiting for Kanhaiya. In such a situation, Kanhaiya did not prove to be the pawn of victory for the Congress.

Congress laggards in both Tarapur and Kusheshwarsthan
The Congress, which broke away from the Grand Alliance by claiming victory in Kusheshwarsthan, has been the number four party. Congress candidate Atirek Kumar got 5602 votes. As far as vote percentage is concerned, Congress has lagged even behind Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). The ruling JDU won by securing 45.72 per cent votes. On the other hand, RJD came second by getting 36.02 percent votes. Apart from this, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) got 4.29% and Congress got 4.28% votes. Independent candidate JIBACHH KUMAR HAJARI secured 2.44% of the votes. Most of the people of Kusheshwarsthan have voted for these people. Apart from this, other parties and independent candidates got less than two per cent votes.

Why did Nitish Kumar win in Kusheshwar place?

Whereas in Tarapur, the Congress has suffered. In Tarapur too, Congress has been the number four party. Here RJD got 45.71%, JDU got 45.23%, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) got 3.54% and Congress got 1.87% votes.

The three youth leaders, including Kanhaiya, did a lot of publicity

In fact, the Congress had prepared to give competition to RJD and JDU in the by-elections of the Bihar Assembly through its new star campaigners. A reception was organized for the three leaders at the Sadaqat Ashram in Patna. After this, the three leaders started campaigning in both the assembly seats. Also a chapel was organized.

Congress-RJD alliance broke due to Kanhaiya’s affair!
Kanhaiya Kumar is believed to be the main reason for the breakdown of the grand alliance of RJD and Congress in the by-elections. First, RJD fielded candidates on both the seats of the by-elections – Kusheshwarsthan and Tarapur. After this, Congress also fielded its candidates against RJD. In the by-election, Congress has fielded Atirek Kumar from Bihar’s Kusheshwarsthan seat and Rajesh Kumar from Tarapur assembly seat.

Youth leaders of Gujarat could not get OBC votes
With this, it was decided that the Grand Alliance in Bihar would no longer be united, but would compete amongst themselves. Kanhaiya Kumar, a leader of the Communist Party of India, and Jignesh Mevani, a Dalit leader and MLA from Gujarat, have both recently joined the Congress. At the same time, Hardik Patel had joined the earlier Congress. Presently he is working president in Gujarat.

Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor and Jignesh Mevani played an important role in the Patidar movement of Gujarat. Hardik Patel joined the Congress only after that. At the same time, Alpesh Thakor moved to BJP. But Jignesh Mevani had not made any compromise till now and he has been fighting with BJP continuously.
