The two top-10 best selling hatchback cars in April 2024 i.e. the first month of the current fiscal year are made by Maruti Suzuki. Whereas 6 hatchback cars are included in the top 25.

Hyundai i20 Elite

Hyundai Elite i20 was the fifth best selling hatchback car in the country in April. During this period, the car manufacturing company sold 5199 vehicles. Whereas in the same period last year, the company had sold 6472 Elite i20 vehicles. Sales of Elite i20 have declined by 20 percent on an annual basis.

Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago was the 19th best selling car in April 2024 and the fourth best selling hatchback during the last month. It comes in both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV (Electric Vehicle) versions. During April this year, Tata sold 6796 units of this hatchback, whereas last year in the same month 8450 units were sold. Its sales have also registered a decline of 20 percent on an annual basis.

Maruti Suzuki Alto

Maruti Suzuki Alto was the 14th best selling car and the third best selling hatchback in the country last month. Maruti Suzuki sold 9043 units of Alto in April 2024, whereas 11548 units were sold in April last year. There was a decline of 22 percent in its sales on annual basis.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The second best-selling hatchback in April 2024 was the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which is sold with a sole 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a manual or AMT gearbox. The carmaker sold 14,049 units last month, compared to 16,180 units in April last year. On annual basis, the sales of this hatchback car of Maruti Suzuki have decreased by 13 percent.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

In April 2024, Maruti Suzuki WagonR was the second best selling car and the first hatchback in the country. Last month, Maruti Suzuki sold 17850 WagonR, while in April 2023 the company sold 20879 WagonR. Accordingly, the sales of this hatchback car have decreased by 15 percent on annual basis.
