Thousands of workers took part in a protest march in Brussels against a law restricting higher wages.
Workers from different cities in Belgium gathered in front of Brussels Gare du Nord.
The protesters in red hats, masks and jackets marched along the wide avenues of the Belgian capital with the pennants of the trade unions to which they belong. Demonstrators protested against the 1996 law, which provided for an increase in wages not exceeding a certain level.
Protesters also expressed their opposition to the 0.4 percent increase, given the hardships and inflation during the coronavirus pandemic.
The workers played music on various musical instruments and carried posters criticizing the law: “Be sure to change the law!”, “Workers in this country are angry!”, “Trade union resistance”.
