The British television channel BBC World News was barred from airing in China on Friday, a week after a UK media regulator revoked Chinese state television’s license to broadcast in the United Kingdom. News agency Reuters has given this information.
The National Radio and Television Administration of China has said that an investigation found that BBC World News reports related to China severely violated the rules, the news should be “true and fair”. The Administration has stated that the channel does not meet the expectations from foreign channels for broadcasting in China, so its application for broadcast for another year will not be accepted.

Raab has tweeted, “China’s decision to ban BBC World News in mainland China is an unacceptable curtailing of media freedom. China has some of the most severe restrictions on media & internet freedoms across the globe, & this latest step will only damage China’s reputation in the eyes of the world.”
