Many people in India are not able to pay the heavy premium of health insurance. To help such people, a very special scheme is being run by the Government of India. Its name is Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The other name of this scheme is Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). Under this scheme, the government provides health insurance to the people for free.
The beneficiary of Ayushman Bharat i.e. PM Jan Arogya Yojana gets free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh. For this, Ayushman Card is issued in the name of the beneficiary. With the help of this card, the beneficiary can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in government and private hospitals listed under the scheme.
Talking about getting an Ayushman card, its process is very easy. Anyone can apply for an Ayushman card online from home. Let us tell you that the card issued under the Ayushman Yojana is made on the basis of a list. People who fall below the poverty line on the basis of the 2011 census. Those who have kutcha houses. There is no earning male member in the house. There are only female earning members. Those whose family income is less than Rs 10,000 per month. They can apply for this card. A list of beneficiaries of PM Jan Ayushman Yojana has been issued by the government. Those whose name is included in this list can easily get the Ayushman card made.
In the state of Uttar Pradesh, families who have more than 6 units in their ration card and whose name is in the list issued by the government, can apply to avail the benefits of Ayushman Yojana.
During a call on the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana helpline number 14555, it was told that senior citizens can apply to get the benefits of Ayushman Yojana. There is no provision of a list for senior citizens. Senior citizens need Aadhaar card and ration card to get a card. Such people can apply by contacting the Arogya Mitra posted in their nearest hospital. One can apply for the card with the help of Jan Seva Kendra.
Candidates having this eligibility will be able to apply for making Ayushman card.

How to apply for Ayushman Bharat card
First of all go to the official website of Ayushman Bharat Yojana pmjay.gov.in.
Now you will see the Am I Eligible section on the screen, click on it.
After this, select the Beneficiary option and proceed to verify the mobile number. You will receive an OTP on the entered mobile number. Login by entering the OTP and captcha code
Now click on Search For Beneficiary.
After this you have to select your state and write PMJAY in the scheme.
Now you have to fill any one of the details for ration card like Family ID, Aadhar Card or Location Rural or Location Urban. If you give Aadhar Card details or Ration Card details, then your family details will be shown on the screen. After this, you have to select the name of the person for whom you want to make Ayushman card and verify his details.
Now choose the Aadhaar option and verify through OTP.
After the OTP is verified, the authentication page will open. Here you have to submit the application for Ayushman card.
After submitting, a new page will automatically open where you have to select the e-kyc option.
For e-KYC, you will have to enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
After e-KYC, you will have to submit your passport size photo.
After this, you will have to provide information about mobile number, relation, pin code, state, district, rural or urban, village etc. and click on submit. In this way the application for Ayushman card will be submitted.
This is how you can do self registration on your mobile
To get Ayushman card, the central government is going to provide the facility to apply through Ayushman Card App on mobile phones from tomorrow. After downloading the app, the beneficiary will have to register with the help of mobile number. After this, all the steps mentioned have to be filled carefully. People applying to get Ayushman card online through mobile app are advised to keep digital copy i.e. soft copy of all the necessary documents in their phone.
