Athletic will look for their first victory in the Europa League against AZ Alkmaar this Thursday at 9:00 p.m. in San Mamés. Ernesto Valverde’s team tied the first matchday 1-1 against Roma at the Olympic Stadium in the Italian capital with a header from Paredes in the 85th minute. The red and whites arrive at the European event after drawing against Sevilla in house 1-1. The Bilbao team started winning, but the expulsion of Agirrezabala in the 82nd minute weighed down Valverde’s team, who conceded an own goal in the 93rd minute. For the match against the Dutch they will not be able to count on Beñat Prados and Yeray due to injury. AZ won the first matchday 3-2 against the Swedish Elfsborg and, in the League, is in 3rd place with 16 points after losing to Utrecht at home 1-2.
