Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail after getting interim bail from the Supreme Court. Arvind Kejriwal came out of Tihar Jail on Friday evening, hours after the Supreme Court granted interim bail till June 1 in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. Party workers and leaders, including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal’s wife Sunita, had gathered outside the jail in the hope of Kejriwal’s release.

Addressing the crowd after coming out of Tihar, Kejriwal said that I told you that I will come back soon? I’m back. He said that first of all I want to worship at the feet of Hanuman ji. With the blessings of Hanuman ji, I am among you all.

He said that I am fighting against dictatorship with my full capacity, now 140 crore of us will have to do this. During this, he also thanked the judges of the Supreme Court who gave the decision of interim bail. Kejriwal, tomorrow i.e. Saturday at 11 am we will all go to Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, then there will be a press conference in the party office at 1 pm; I request all of you to visit Hanuman temple.
Earlier, top party leaders held a press conference and described the decision as a ‘victory for democracy’. Delhi minister Atishi said, “We have started a movement to end dictatorship and with Kejriwal coming out of jail, this movement will become stronger.” He said that now it is up to the citizens to defeat the dictatorship with the power of vote.
The Supreme Court today granted interim bail till June 1 to Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in the alleged Delhi Liquor Policy case. Justice Sanjiv Khanna, heading a two-judge bench along with Justice Dipankar Dutta, said orally that we are passing an order granting interim release to Kejriwal till June 1, 2024. The country’s largest court said that it will upload its order. The bench clarified that Kejriwal will have to surrender after the expiry of the interim bail period.
