London: Arsenal became only the third team to reach 7000 goals since the start of the Football League in England in 1888. Arsenal, nicknamed the Gunners, went on to become the third club to reach 7000 goals in the English top fight with a 4-1 victory over Leeds United. Arsenal went down against Leeds with just one goal to go to the 7000 club. Everton (7139 goals) and Liverpool (7069 goals) are the only clubs to have completed 7000 goals in the English Premier League so far.

Gabriel Martinelli’s double gave Arsenal an official victory over Leeds United. Twenty-year-old Martinelli’s goals came in the 16th and 28th minutes. Twenty-year-old Bukayo Saka (42nd minute) and twenty-one-year-old Emily Smith Roy (84th minute) completed the scoring for Arsenal. Rafinha’s penalty goal (75th minute) was scored by Leeds.

Of the 27 goals Arsenal have scored so far this season, 14 are for players under the age of 21. That means more than 50 percent of goals are scored by players under the age of 21. This is the first time in Premier League history that players under the age of 21 have scored so many goals for a club since the 1999-2000 season.

Arsenal scored 11 shots on target in the first 45 minutes against Leeds. This is the first such attack in the first 45 minutes of the Premier League since 2003-2004. Arsenal made a total of 12 shots on target during the match. In short, there was only one in the second half.
