Argentina has qualified in FIFA World Cup 2022. Argentina have qualified for the Football World Cup to be held in Qatar next year by drawing a draw in a qualifying match against their old rival Brazil. Neither team Brazil nor Argentina could score in this qualifying match and the match ended in a goalless draw. With this draw, Argentina’s star player and football’s star player Leon Messi has got his fifth and possibly last chance to win the Football World Cup. Second-placed Argentina’s third-placed team in their group has qualified for next year’s FIFA Football World Cup in Qatar after Ecuador’s 2-0 win over Chile.

Brazil has already qualified

Brazil has already qualified for the Football World Cup to be held in Qatar. Brazil currently have 35 points and are in first place in their group. While Argentina has 29 points but now only four qualifier matches are left, no team can leave Messi-led Argentina team behind. For the FIFA World Cup, four teams get direct entry into the World Cup, while the fifth-place team has to play in the inter-continental playoffs. Brazil and Argentina have played 13-13 qualifying matches so far, which is one less than the other teams. Actually, due to Covid, the match held in September was postponed after only seven minutes. Football body FIFA still has to decide this match. Apart from these two teams, Ecuador has 23 points and is in third place, while Venezuela and other teams in last place have a chance to qualify.
