The Arab Coalition announced on Saturday the interception and destruction of a trapped drone launched by the “Houthis” towards Saudi Arabia, the third in 24 hours.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Coalition, reported by the official Saudi press agency (SPA), declaring: “The (Saudi) air defenses destroyed a trapped drone launched by the Houthi terrorist militia towards Khamis Mushait, in the southwest of the Kingdom. “
The same source pointed out that “the Houthi militia continues its attempts to deliberately target civilians and their property”.
The Coalition, in this context, underlined having “taken operational measures to protect civilians against these attacks”.
Until 08:40 GMT, no immediate comment was made by the Houthis.
On Friday, the Arab Coalition announced in two separate statements that it had destroyed two drones packed with explosives launched by the Houthis towards southern Saudi Arabia.
The Houthis are used to announcing ballistic missile, projectile and drone fire at Saudi positions. For its part, the Arab Coalition, led by the Kingdom in Yemen, is increasing the announcements claiming to have foiled these attacks.
Yemen is the scene of a war that has persisted for nearly 7 years between pro-government forces supported by the Arab Coalition on one side, and the Houthis on the other, who control several governorates including the capital, Sanaa, since September 2014.
