In Sudan, anti-government actions continue for the 8th day.
On the eve of the demonstrators blocked the path to the International Airport “Port Sudan”, and today – to the airport of the state of Kassala.
As the leader of the council of the eastern tribe Bija Ahmed Musa told Anadolu agency, the highway to the city of Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast is closed for the movement of passenger buses and private cars.
Musa said the roads to Port Sudan airport have been blocked in protest at the government’s slowness to find ways to urgently resolve the problem of eastern Sudan.
The demonstrators demand the dissolution of the government, the abolition of the clauses of the Peace Agreement with Armed Movements of October 3, 2020, concluded in Juba regarding the eastern regions of Sudan, the creation of a negotiating platform with the government on issues related to the region, the allocation of resources to the region and representation of the region in the central government, Musa said.
He said that anti-government actions in Sudan will continue until the demands of the demonstrators are met.
On October 3, 2020, in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, a final peace agreement was signed to end conflicts between the Sudanese government and 9 rebel armed groups within the Revolutionary Front in the west and south of the country.
