In Ankara, under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday, August 4, a meeting of the Supreme Military Council of Turkey will be held.
The meeting in the Presidential Complex will discuss the issues of appointments to the Armed Forces, promotion of senior and middle-level officers, as well as sending generals and admirals to retirement.
The meeting will be attended by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gul, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, Minister of Treasury and Finance Lutfi Elvan, Minister of Education Zia Selcuka, Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces and Yashar Gülü commanders of the branches of the armed forces.
Before the meeting, the President and members of the Council will traditionally visit the mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
The decisions taken at the end of the meeting will come into force after the approval of President Erdogan.
