TDP is the second largest party in the NDA alliance
Earlier in separate meetings on Tuesday, the Telugu Desam Vidhayak Dal and NDA allies elected Chandrababu Naidu as their leader. The NDA comprising TDP, BJP and Janasena has won a huge majority by winning 164 out of 175 assembly seats in the recent assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. Along with this, the NDA has also won 21 out of the total 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Naidu’s party TDP has won a total of 16 MPs in the Lok Sabha and is the second largest party in the BJP-led alliance NDA. This time BJP has not got a majority on its own in the Parliament. Therefore, TDP and JDU, which are part of the NDA, have a big role in the formation of the current central government.
