Andhra Pradesh: A horrific accident in a pharma company, one died due to poisonous gas, many people are in critical condition.
A major accident occurred in a pharma company in Anakapalle district of Andhra Pradesh. Here one person died and 20 others became seriously ill due to poisonous gas. He has been admitted to the hospital. The incident took place at Tagur Laboratories Pvt Ltd in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City in Parvada, about 35 km from this city. Where poisonous gas spread in the laboratory due to the mixture of hydrochloric acid and chlorine.
Initial reports suggest that a chemical reaction involving hydrochloric acid and chlorine resulted in the release of hazardous gases. Employees present at the facility during the leak were most affected, 11 of whom became unconscious on the spot and were taken to nearby hospitals.
District Fire Officer P. Nageswara Rao confirmed the death and said that an employee died due to gas exposure during treatment. Emergency services, including fire and medical teams, worked quickly to control the situation and evacuate the area. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the leak and assess whether safety protocols at the facility were adequate.
Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep concern over the incident. He urged the state government to ensure adequate compensation to the bereaved family and proper medical facilities for those admitted to the hospital.
