There is a tense situation on the border between India and China. Even after the 13th round of talks, the situation like May 2020 could not be restored. Meanwhile, China’s state-run Global Times has ‘threatened’ India, saying that if there is a war, New Delhi will be defeated. After talks between the two sides, the Indian Army said on Monday that the Chinese army did not agree to the ‘positive suggestions’ given by it.
An editorial published in the Global Times said, ‘New Delhi, understand one thing clearly. She will not get it the way she wants to achieve the limit. If the war starts, he will surely face defeat.’ It said, ‘The border dispute between China and India still persists. The root cause of this is the lack of a right attitude in the talks on the part of the Indian side. India’s demands are impractical apart from the actual situation.’
Eight hours long talks between the two countries
The Global Times has termed the Indian attitude in the talks as ‘opportunistic’. The 13th round of talks between the two countries took place on Sunday on the Chinese side in the Chushul-Moldo border area on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Lt Gen PGK Menon, 14th Corps Commander, and South Xinjiang Military District Chief Major General Liu Lin held talks between the two countries for about eight and a half hours.
Chinese soldiers blocked the way
Soldiers of India and China are stuck at many places in Depsong Bulge area. The PLA has not been allowing Indian troops to access its traditional patrolling points PP-10, 11, 11A, 12 and 13 as well as the track junction Charding Ninglung Nala (CNN) in the Demchok sector since last year. Chinese soldiers have blocked the way through these areas.
