Algeria has decided to immediately close its airspace to Moroccan aviation, the Algerian presidency announced Wednesday evening.
This decision comes at the end of a “Supreme Security Council, chaired by the President of the Republic”.
Algiers took the decision “in the face of continuing Moroccan provocations and hostile practices, to immediately close the airspace of all Moroccan civilians and military planes”.
Are also concerned all “those bearing a Moroccan registration number, as of today”.
Note that Algeria had already severed diplomatic relations with its neighbor at the end of August.
“The incessant hostile acts perpetrated by Morocco against Algeria have necessitated the revision of relations between the two countries and the intensification of security controls at the western borders” had justified the presidency.
