Alcohol must be purchased with an RTPCR document or vaccine document; Government with new guidelines

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has issued new guidelines for buying liquor from liquor stores in the state. Only those who have been vaccinated and have an RTPCR certificate can now purchase alcohol.

The government issued the revised guidelines without any hesitation after the high court intervened again on Tuesday, raising concerns over the congestion in liquor stores. RTPCR certificate taken 72 hours ago is required. In addition, there is a discount for those who have received at least one dose of the vaccine or for those who have a Covid positive certificate a month in advance.

The Beverages Corporation has also directed that the board containing the updated guidelines be displayed in front of the outlets. There will also be more police presence in front of bars to ensure compliance with the standards.
