Akal Takht sentenced Sukhbir Badal, will have to clean false utensils and washroom in Gurudwara
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal has been sentenced by Akal Takht today. This punishment has been given in the case of granting amnesty to Dera chief Ram Rahim. A meeting of five Singh Sahibans was held at Akal Takht regarding the case of Sukhbir Badal, in which he and other cabinet members during the Shiromani Akali Dal government were sentenced on charges of religious misconduct. Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday admitted that he had played a role in getting pardon for Dera chief Ram Rahim during the Akali government.

Let us tell you that two months ago, Sukhbir Singh Badal was declared ‘Tankhaiyya’ (guilty of religious misconduct) by Akal Takht. Akal Takht had said that Sukhbir Singh Badal, as former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Government and President of Shiromani Akali Dal, had taken some decisions which had damaged the image of ‘Panthak Swarup’. For this, Akal Takht has sentenced Sukhbir Badal to clean utensils in the Golden Temple. Apart from this, he will have to carry a spear outside Sri Darbar Sahib. They will also have to wear a plaque around their neck.
Sukhbir Badal and other cabinet members of the 2015 Akali government have been given religious punishment including cleaning toilets, washing utensils at the Golden Temple. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghubir Singh has directed the working committee of Shiromani Akali Dal to accept the resignation of Sukhbir Badal within three days and report to Akal Takht Sahib. Akal Takht has also directed the working committee of Shiromani Akali Dal to launch a membership drive and elect a new president within six months.
