Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary reached Leh station, took stock of preparations amid standoff with China

Air Chief VR Choudhary on Saturday visited the Leh station of the Air Force and the deployment locations in the forward areas of the northern sector where he took stock of the operational preparedness of the Army units. Air Chief Marshal Choudhary also interacted with the officers present at the airbase and the officers of the units stationed there.

Arrived at the location of Air Force deployment in forward areas
“Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary arrived at Air Force Station in Leh on October 16 and Air Force Deployment in forward areas of Northern Sector on 16th October,” the Indian Air Force tweeted on Sunday. On May 5 last year, there was a situation of standoff on the border between the Indian and Chinese armies. There was a violent clash between them in the areas of Pangang Lake, after which both the sides increased their deployment there.

Indo-China soldiers are stationed on LAC
After several rounds of military and diplomatic level talks, the two sides completed the withdrawal process in Gogra area in August. The withdrawal of troops from the northern and southern banks of the lake took place in February. At present, 50,000 to 60,000 soldiers from each side are deployed along the Line of Actual Control in the sensitive sector.
