Bharti Airtel has announced a 10 to 21 percent increase in the rates of mobile services (Airtel Recharge Plan) on Friday, June 28, 2024. Airtel said in a statement that the revision in the rates of mobile services will be effective from July 3. The Sunil Mittal-led telecom company said that we have ensured that there is no burden on the budget-challenged consumers, for this a very nominal price increase (less than 70 paise per day) has been made in the entry-level plan.
Bharti Airtel said that mobile average revenue per user (ARPU) should be above Rs 300 to create a financially healthy business model for telecom companies in India. Unlimited voice plans are also expensive
Airtel has increased the rates of unlimited voice plans by about 11 percent. Now these rates have been increased from Rs 179 to Rs 199, Rs 455 to Rs 509 and Rs 1,799 to Rs 1,999. In the daily data plan category, the Rs 479 plan has been increased to Rs 579 (20.8 percent increase). Telecom companies have increased the rates immediately after the 10th spectrum auction.
Jio plans are up to 27% more expensive
The country’s top telecom company Reliance Jio (Jio Recharge Plan) has also shocked its customers. Jio has increased the prices of prepaid and postpaid plans from 12 percent to 27 percent. The new tariff plans will be implemented from July 3. After the tariff hike, Jio’s most popular plan of Rs 239 will become Rs 299. Jio is going to increase mobile service rates for the first time after a gap of about two and a half years.

How much will the price of which plan increase
The company has increased the rates of mobile services in almost all plans. The price of the lowest recharge is being increased to Rs 19. This is a 1 GB data ‘add-on-pack’ pack, which costs about 27 percent more than the Rs 15 plan.
The Rs 239 plan will now cost Rs 299. It offers 1.5GB data per day and its validity is 28 days. The cheapest prepaid plan was Rs 155, it will now be available for Rs 189.
The company said that the price of 75 GB postpaid data plan will now increase from Rs 399 to Rs 449.
Jio has also increased the price of its popular Rs 666 unlimited plan with 84 days validity by almost 20 per cent to Rs 799.
The prices of annual recharge plans will increase by 20-21 per cent from Rs 1,559 to Rs 1,899 and from Rs 2,999 to Rs 3,599.
There will be an increase of 19-21 percent in mid-range mobile service plans. According to the company’s statement, unlimited 5G data will be available on all plans of 2 GB per day and above.
