Out of television since 2014, when he was dismissed from Esporte Interativo (2007-2021), senator Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO) will once again have an attraction in the medium that gave him popularity as a sports anchor on RedeTV! and SBT.
Kajuru premieres this Monday (20th) Jogo Duro, on TV Goiânia, Band’s partner in the state. In the project, Kajuru will combine sport and controversial comments. Along with the senator, there will be commentators Nivaldo Carvalho, Fabão, former defender of Goiás and São Paulo); and Carlos Eduardo; former Internacional player).
The presenter will be in charge of the attraction a few times a week, when in Goiânia. If his commitments as a senator in Brasília (DF) clash with the attraction, which will air daily at 12pm, he will send recorded material and will be replaced.
The fact draws attention because Kajuru had a tumultuous relationship with the Band. He worked for the broadcaster between 2003 and 2004 and accumulated good ratings with the program Esporte Total.
In June 2004, however, Kajuru accused Band of having accepted complaints from the then president of the CBF, Ricardo Texeira, and Aécio Neves, then governor of Minas Gerais, about irregularities at the entrance to a game between Brazil and Argentina in Belo Horizonte ( MG). Kajuru was fired while on air.
Subsequently, his relationship with Band improved and he eventually began giving interviews as a senator elected by Goiás in recent years.
The last attraction that Kajuru commanded on TV was the program O Incrível Kajuru, on Esporte Interativo. He left after his contract with Warner Bros Discovery sports TV ended.
