Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Harnaz Sandhu on being crowned Miss Universe and wished her all the best for her future endeavours. Punjab’s Sandhu on Monday won the Miss Universe 2021 title by defeating contestants from 79 countries and after 21 years the title went to India.
PM Modi tweeted, “Congratulations Harnaaz Sandhu on becoming Miss Universe. Best wishes to them for their future endeavours. Before Sandhu, only two Indians were crowned Miss Universe. Actress Sushmita Sen won the title in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
