The Afghan Taliban movement announced on Saturday its takeover of 3 provinces bordering Pakistan, in the east of the country, bringing the number of provinces under the domination of the Taliban to 21.
According to the monitoring of the Anadolu Agency, 21 of the capitals of Afghan provinces, out of the existing 34, are now under Taliban control.
The movement’s spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, said in a series of tweets that Taliban fighters had taken control of the capitals of the provinces of Paktika, Paktiya and Kunar (east).
