Since October 7, about 74,000 Palestinians have taken refuge in UN schools in the Gaza Strip. This is stated in a statement by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
According to the statement, Palestinians who fled their homes took refuge in 64 educational institutions in various areas of the exclave.
UNRWA fears that their number may increase.
The organization noted that one of these schools was attacked by the Israeli army.
