Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister Public Health Scheme – PMJAY : The government is considering doubling the number of beneficiaries under its flagship Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme in the next 3 years. Initially, all people above 70 years of age will be brought under its purview, and the insurance coverage will be increased to Rs 10 lakh annually. That is, now under this scheme (Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana), free treatment will be available up to Rs 10 lakh in a year instead of Rs 5 lakh. This is expected to be announced in the budget to be presented on July 23. Cover will be available up to 10 lakhs
The news agency has received this information from official sources, according to which, as per the estimate prepared by the National Health Authority, if the scheme is approved, the government treasury will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 12076 crore every year. According to sources, there is a plan to double the beneficiary base under AB-PMJAY in the next 3 years, after which more than two-thirds of the country’s population will get health cover. There is a proposal to double the coverage amount limit from the current Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
People above 70 years of age also get benefits
Initially, all people above 70 years of age will be brought under its ambit. Around 12 crore families across the country have been added under the Ayushman Yojana. Now every citizen above 70 years of age will be included in it. This will increase the number of beneficiaries by 4 to 5 crores.

How to get Ayushman Bharat card made
- First of all go to the official website of Ayushman Bharat Yojana pmjay.gov.in.
- Now you will see the Am I Eligible section on the screen, click on it.
- After this, select the Beneficiary option and proceed to verify the mobile number. You will receive an OTP on the entered mobile number. Login by entering the OTP and captcha code.
- Now click on Search For Beneficiary.
- After this you have to select your state and write PMJAY in the scheme.
- Now you have to fill any one of the details for ration card like Family ID, Aadhar Card or Location Rural or Location Urban. If you give Aadhar Card details or Ration Card details, then your family details will be shown on the screen. After this, you have to select the name of the person for whom you want to make Ayushman card and verify his details.
- Now choose the Aadhaar option and verify through OTP.
- After the OTP is verified, the authentication page will open. Here you have to submit the application for Ayushman card.
- After submitting, a new page will automatically open where you have to select the e-kyc option.
- For e-KYC, you will have to enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
- After e-KYC, you will have to submit your passport size photo.
- After this, you will have to provide information about mobile number, relation, pin code, state, district, rural or urban, village etc. and click on submit. In this way the application for Ayushman card will be submitted.

Self registration through app on mobile
To get Ayushman card, the central government has also provided the facility to apply through Ayushman Card App on mobile phones. After downloading the app, the beneficiary has to register with the help of mobile number. After this, all the steps mentioned have to be filled carefully. People applying to get Ayushman card online through mobile app are advised to keep a digital copy i.e. soft copy of all the necessary documents in their phone.
