AA photojournalist Şebnem Coşkun received the third prize in The Nature Conservancy international photography competition

More than 100 thousand works submitted by photographers from 158 countries were evaluated in the competition organized by The Nature Conservancy, a non-governmental organization with more than one million members focusing on environmental issues in the world. Coşkun won the third place in this competition with his photograph that draws attention to the human-made wastes that emerged during the coronavirus epidemic that affected the whole world.

Şebnem Coşkun won the first prize in the Nature and Environment category of the POY Asia photography contest, which she attended this year, with her same photograph, and the second prize in the Science and Natural History category of the same contest last year.

Coşkun, who participated in The Andrei Stenin Photo Contest with the same photograph, was a finalist in the My Planet category.

The photograph, in which AA photojournalist Coşkun carried wastes such as masks that cause serious harm to human and environmental health during the pandemic process, was taken on the coast of Istanbul Ortaköy last year.
