Humor must never be lost, not even in the face of the cruelty of war. And this premise has been taken literally by a Ukrainian soldier who has decided to ‘dress up’ as Gila and call the enemy to play a joke.
It all arises from the capture by Ukrainian forces of a T-72B3 tank, made in Russia and belonging to Kremlin troops. Not content with that trophy, the Ukrainian fighter decided to call Russia to help him fix the tank.
The soldier, who has gone viral for his prank and has become known under the fictitious name ‘Kochevnik’, contacted the tank’s manufacturer, the Russian company Uralvagonzavod. A company employee answered the call and the Ukrainian soldier identified himself with the name ‘Aleksander Anatolevich’.
After that first exchange of words, the combatant went on to list the tank’s problems: it was leaking oil, the compressors were not working, the turret rotation mechanism was failing…
And the Uralvagonzavod worker fulfilled his role perfectly and informed the soldier that he was going to pass on all the above-mentioned failures to the designers of the T-72B3 tank.
He even spoke with the president of the company
However, the joke didn’t stop there. According to what they say, the soldier supposedly spoke with the president of the Russian company, Andrey Abakumov, who asked the fighter for more information to ensure his identity.
Specifically, Abakumov asked the soldier to send him a WhatsApp message to identify the person who had reported these important failures in the tank and to be able to contact him later if necessary.
It was there that, who until then was ‘Aleksander Anatolevich’ for the Uralvagonzavod company, revealed that he was actually a fighter belonging to the Ukrainian Army and that the T-72B3 had been captured at the end of 2022.
