On September 5, a test flight to Fizuli international airport was carried out from the Baku international airport.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) giant Karabakh passenger plane took off from Heydar Aliyev International Airport and landed at Fizuli International Airport, APA reports.
The flight lasted about 35 minutes.
In addition, a Boeing 747-400, one of the largest cargo planes of Azerbaijan’s Silk Way Airlines, landed at Fizuli International Airport on Sunday. For the first time, goods were delivered to Karabakh by air.
AZAL President Jahangir Asgarov said that all this became possible thanks to the direct control over construction work by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“As the head of state noted, this airport will become an air gateway to Karabakh. I would like to note that, despite the tight deadlines, the Fizuli airport was built in compliance with all the high requirements for international airports, ”Asgarov added.
The Azerbaijani army liberated the city of Fizuli, occupied by Armenia for 27 years, on October 17, 2020.
The foundation of the airport in the city of Fizuli was laid on January 15 of this year by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
