The TikTok account @sn.challenge has done an experiment: that two Spaniards enter a supermarket in Argentina, specifically a Carrefour hypermarket, and tell what catches your attention the most.
“Let’s see what strange things you find in a supermarket in Argentina, in Carrefour”, he begins by saying before verifying that olive oil is approximately the same price as in Spain.
But what catches their attention the most is Coca-Cola because they realize that “The larger one is cheaper than the smaller one.” “And why is that?” they ask. And an Argentine person who is there gives a possible explanation.
“Because this, surely, is subsidized by the State. Sometimes they do it because the price of Coca-Cola is taken as an index.“, he points out while the Spaniards say: “It doesn’t make any kind of sense.”
They also realize something that is not normal in Spain: products like Custards or yogurts are sold individually: “You can buy them four at a time, but in Spain they break up like that and you have to carry them.”
And one last striking product: They sell lemon and orange popcorn.
