The helicopter in which the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, was traveling, had to make an emergency landing this Sunday, according to Iranian television reported by the Reuters agency. The country’s Minister of the Interior has confirmed this information. The affected helicopter was one of three that made up the presidential delegation, according to local media reports, which add that rescue teams are on the way. For now there is no official confirmation about what happened in the accident.
The ultra-conservative cleric Raisí was elected in June 2021 with 62% of the votes, with a participation of less than 50% of the census and 14% of null votes, in a message of civil disobedience sent by the dissidents to the theocratic regime.
